5 GOLD RINGS COMMISSIONED FOR A SECOND SERIES BY ITV

11th September 2017 – Gameshow 5 Gold Rings, hosted by Phillip Schofield, will return for a second series on ITV. The international hit format, created by ITV Studios label Possessed in association with Talpa, begins production in the UK in December.

The news follows the recommission of 5 Gold Rings in The Netherlands by SBS6 earlier this year. The interactive gameshow is also made in France (France2) and for Channel 10 in Israel.

Glenn Hugill, Managing Director, Possessed said : “In a competitive climate, we could not be more thrilled that 5 Gold Rings has been such a huge success for ITV and worldwide. The thousands of photographs viewers sent us of themselves and their loved ones excitedly playing along, pointing out the answers on their TV screens and on their phones and tablets in living rooms across the country, was truly something very, very special. It’s a game that brings families and friends together to share a joyful experience and that above all is why we love it.”

Maarten Meijs, Managing Director of Talpa Global added: “We’re very excited that 5 Gold Rings will return for a second series on ITV. The continuing global roll-out after the success of the show in The Netherlands, France and Israel combined with a 2nd series commissioned in the UK, shows the great potential of this connected show.”

5 Gold Rings is a connected quiz show in which every pixel counts. A huge interactive LED floor projects animated pictures that are the basis of each question. Players place the rings on the correct answer, but these become smaller as the game progresses, making it even more challenging.

Thanks to the unique connected gameplay, viewers are able to participate at home by placing their rings on their smartphone to become part of the experience.

5 Gold Rings is distributed internationally by Talpa Global.
