04 June 2013 – ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) has sold ITV Studios’ international hit drama Mr Selfridge to Canada’s Vision TV, one of a raft of sales to broadcasters across the country.
Zoomer Media’s Vision TV has acquired both the first series (1x90’ + 9x60’) and the recently commissioned second series (10x60’) of Mr Selfridge, which was created by award-winning writer Andrew Davies and stars Jeremy Piven as the flamboyant and visionary American entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge.
The new series Kentucky Bidders, airing in the U.S. on truTV and produced by ITV Studios America, has been pre-sold to the Rogers Media-owned speciality channel OLN in Canada. The 6 x 30’ series takes a look at the unpredictable world of a Southern auction house.
Meanwhile, French-Canadian broadcaster V has commissioned Zone 3 to produce a seventh series (70x30’) of Un Souper Presque Parfait, the local version of ITV Studios’ global hit format, Come Dine With Me.
Also in French-speaking Canada, Canal Vie has acquired the fourth series (43x60’) of Four Weddings USA, the American version of ITV Studios’ internationally popular format, produced by ITV Studios America.
Craig Bohland, VP Sales, North America for ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “We’re excited that Canadian viewers will be joining the growing global audience for Mr Selfridge. These deals are testament to the appeal of ITVS GE’s portfolio, which runs the gamut from distinctive, high quality dramas to popular entertainment formats that have become staples of schedules worldwide.”
