ITV Studios today announces ITV Wild, a brand new online web service designed to provide unique access to thousands of hours of wildlife and natural history content for educational and entertainment purposes.
ITV Studios owns one of the largest wildlife and natural history programming libraries in the world. Launching in autumn 2010, ITV Wild will offer families and schools easy access to clips from its vast archive.
ITV Wild will benefit from a cross promotional plan with ITV.com and related ITV network programming. These include Ray Mears' Field Guide to Britain, Lion Country series two and sister series Wild Cat Country all produced by ITV Studios. A subscription service will be available to schools, which will be launched at BETT, the world's largest education technology event in January 2011, providing a cross curriculum primary school resource.
Andrea Cornes, Creative Director, ITV Studios Anglia commented today, "ITV Studios' wildlife and natural history library is a rich resource of inspirational content and the launch of ITV Wild underlines our key strategy to find new ways to exploit these vast archives. The online service is designed to provide easy access for families and teachers alike alongside supporting educational material and resources, ensuring that a whole new generation of viewers will benefit from the astounding programming available from ITV Studios".
