Sherman Oaks, Calif., May 11, 2017 – It was announced today that ITV Studios America has finalized a joint venture agreement with Circle of Confusion, a premier talent management and production company, to launch Circle of Confusion Television Studios.

The new television studio label will source, develop and produce premium scripted programming, with support from ITV Studios America. Circle of Confusion is expected to draw from its vast library of intellectual property, as well as on its strong relationships with creative talent both inside and outside their walls. Circle of Confusion and ITV Studios America will assemble a creative team to manage the TV studio’s day-to-day operations.

An industry leader in talent management and production, Circle of Confusion executive produces the AMC blockbuster smash series “The Walking Dead” and its companion hit “Fear the Walking Dead.” Additional programming includes “Outcast,” with the second season scheduled to air on Cinemax in 2018, and BBC America’s “Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency,” with the second season now in production. On the film side, the firm served as executive producer on the critically-acclaimed “Straight Outta Compton,” recently produced “Mr. Right” starring Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick, and is in preproduction on “Ness” at Paramount with Paul Greengrass directing.

ITV Studios America’s partnership with Circle of Confusion forms part of ITV’s continued strategy to expand its U.S. scripted television operations under the leadership of Philippe Maigret, President of ITV Studios America. The new TV studio label will be headquartered in Los Angeles, and complement ITV Studios America’s existing operations, its partnership with Tomorrow Studios, and investments in Blumhouse Television and Indigenous Media. ITV Studios Global Entertainment, ITV Studios’ distribution business, will manage distribution of the Circle of Confusion Television Studios’ output.

The deal was negotiated by Chris Simonian at CAA, Howard Abramson at Behr, Abramson, Levy and Paul Bernstein at Venable for Circle of Confusion; and Tom Lane, Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at ITV Studios America and Michael French at Squire, Patton, Boggs for ITV Studios America.
